Through the analysis of the genetic marker COXI, we studied the presence and distribution of Polyommatus (Agrodiaetus) fabressei (Oberthür, 1910) and P. (A.) ripartii (Freyer, 1830) in the province of Guadalajara, center of the Iberian Peninsula. P. fabressei is widely distributed in limestone and gypsum areas with presence of marls, while P. ripartii is found exclusively in the Sistema Ibérico mountains, in the east of the province, where both species coexist in sympatry. Regarding the external morphology, according to the results of the COXI and the geographical distribution of the citations, we can confirm that P. fabressei never presents the white stripe on the ventral side of the posterior wing, since this character never appears in the populations where this species does not coexist with P. ripartii. The most that come to present some specimens, is a fine vestigial line. On the contrary, the norm in the studied populations is that P. ripartii presents this well marked character, although they appear specimens that have it drawn with little intensity. The only nutrient plant found for both species in the area is Onobrychis argentea subs. hispanica. The phase L1 of the P.
fabressei caterpillar, unknown to date, as well as aspects of the biology and ecology of this species is shown.
