Primera lista provisional comentada de microlepidoptera de Albania (Insecta: Lepidoptera)

Se han recopilado todos los datos publicados disponibles sobre la fauna de microlepidoptera de Albania y se han combinado con los resultados de muestreos modernos para elaborar la primera lista conocida de microlepidoptera de Albania. Los datos publicados son mínimos como consecuencia de la historia política del país; estos informes históricos se complementan con muestreos activos realizados durante el presente milenio. En total, registramos 1.266 especies de 46 familias. De ellas, un total de 932 especies (72 %) se han registrado en el presente milenio y se consideran residentes en la actualidad. Un total de 314 taxones (24 %) no se han registrado en el país durante 100 años o más. Es posible que algunos se hayan extinguido, pero es más probable que esta cifra refleje el escaso registro de la fauna albanesa en general, como lo demuestra el hecho de que 289 especies descritas aquí sean, al parecer, completamente nuevas para la fauna albanesa.
